A Happy Ending

Homework at the kitchen table
acrylic on canvas
12 x 12 inches

One of the things the blog has done for me -- is
to make me think about completing work I've
begun. Tonight I finished the little kitchen
painting I started a while ago. At least I think
it's done. Spring is a good time to tie up
loose ends. This little painting is so complicated
I'm tempted to go minimalist on myself and
paint three stripes, or a pure pink canvas.
I am grateful not to be a high realist, because I
don't have the patience for it, but I
have great admiration for their tenacity.
I'm happy with the painting now. It
started as an inspired moment in the kitchen,
a lovely girl, and a vase of beautiful roses,
and ends right here. Thanks for all of your
encouragement along the way.

Have a taking-the-day-off-to-read day.
