Next step of Mother diptych

of the mother I'm painting in the diptych isn't
perfect is that I really want to watch the Stephen Colbert
and Jon Stewart shows. I've blown the time window now, and
have to watch in reverse order, but I'm cool with that.
These two shows are my little treat for myself at the
end of a long working day. I just love both programs.
Because some of the comics are Canadian on Jon
Stewart, the show is always slipping in jokes geared
towards Canadians, and that cracks me up. Plus of
course Colbert thinks Canadians are a scourge, and
is always including us in the Threat Down.
I'm sorry. I'll replace the photo of the next
step in the small mother portrait tomorrow, and
I'm throwing in a two minute sketch of the huge
pansies I have to plant, in a little cream jug.
Have an enjoying-what's-funny day.
Barbara, I am a big fan of your drawings! This again is a beauty - you draw just the essential, not a line too much - I love it! Less is more. Good luck with your diptych - its coming on well!
ReplyDeleteI share your end of the day treat, Barbara, and Tivo both so I won't miss them. I'm probably not picking up on the Canadian bits, though. I have this Texas perspective, you see....
ReplyDeleteNext time I watch, I'll think of you.
XXXOOO
This is so simple and elegant!
ReplyDeleteHi Liza,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. I was thinking that
the drawing was maybe a bit "awky awk, as we say about things being awkward. My family does anyway.
When I take on these small portraits I am amazed at how graceful and rich with emotion your portraits are.

Hi Susan,
ReplyDeleteYou are funny Susan. Goodness knows both Jon Stewart and
Stephen Colbert count on Texas for material. But I'm sure Canada and
our predictable boring nature follows a close second.
Glad you like that humour. Sometimes I really rely on those guys to put a smile on my face.

I totally envy your drawing talent. Always so crisp and clean. And with just enough character. :)
ReplyDeleteew
Hey Eldon,
ReplyDeleteIn that case the envy goes two ways. I am an in awe of how you paint. Just blown away.
Take care,
Barbara
Laughed out loud at this post. I feel your pain. I will do almost anything to catch Jon & Colbert...especially Stephen...my Hunk-O-Burnin'Luv.
ReplyDeleteOh, btw....very nice drawings!
Hi Gwen,
ReplyDeleteI missed this post or I would have known about you and Colbert. You are an item I gather.
Take care,
Barbara
