Hi everyone. We went up to Ottawa this weekend to see
my mother, and visit with my husband's mom.
We took in the From Raphael to Carracci, The Art of Papal
Rome show at the National Art Gallery today and bemoaned
the fact that the government has cancelled plans,
long in the works, for a national portrait gallery in Ottawa.
Steven and I zoomed up to Ottawa late on Friday night, and
drove back to Toronto at a leisurely pace today through some
of the most beautiful countryside in Ontario. The highways
between Ottawa and Kingston, run past rolling farm land,
lakes and lovely little towns. We ate dinner tonight
in a Tapas restaurant in Kingston, which was
excellent, and are now busy unpacking and getting
ready for a wildly busy week crammed with
work and social occasions.
I took zillions of pictures out of the car window
with Steven's wonderful little Canon camera,
and now I have reference for quite a while.
Have a life-is-a-great-trip day.
Beautiful area, Barbara! I'm so happy you were able to go on a short adventure and take lots of photos.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to see what will, er, develop... :)
Hi Melinda,
ReplyDeleteThis is Kingston, a small town about two hours away from Ottawa, where my
father was born. His family used to own the local newspaper. It's a picturesque town especially down by Lake Ontario.

ReplyDeleteHi Laurel,
ReplyDeleteIt was so much fun. I've been inside my studio so much, that everything on the trip looked magical.
