Still Painting -- despite blogging issues

Nova Scotia Flowers

So...Sorry I didn't have any images for the past few days.
I've been having a serious problem uploading both my
pictures and my blog.

This is a great pity because I'm painting every day,
and the scenery here is something I'd love to share with
you. Plus everyone I know out here is either an artist,
or a writer. It's an idyllic existence.

When we first started coming out here we didn't have
a phone, cell phones looked like books, and we still
don't have TV. Thank goodness. But times have
changed in 14 years and so have we. The blog must
go on.

Have an appreciating-what-you-have day.

  1. Beautiful, happy, light filled painting!! So glad you're back. It sounds like you're having a great time.

Best wishes with the blog and your time away from techno-gizzies!

It does sound idyllic. And, cool...

  2. I really envy where you are right now! In an old school house, away from the continuous activity and the sounds of the city. It is so true that being near water clears the mind and the soul. Especially in a somewhat isolated area.
The flower picture is a nice comment on where you are. As Melinda said, it is a happy light filled picture. Maybe you should forget the commission work, and just enjoy your surroundings! You will be back at the "grind" in no time!
My daughter is heading out to Magdalen Island.(aka Ile de la Madelaine) She is a tree planter and so meets many other east coasters who are tree planters in B.C. She is making this journey on her own, so I hope the east is filled with friendly people!

  3. Hi Melinda,

I miss you. I'm using an unfamiliar
computer. Hey girl, during the day it can be 80 - 85 and at night 50! We are sleeping like babies. Plus the air is clean, clean. I would love to see you here!!!!

  4. Hi Catherine,

Thanks for your kind wishes. I have never met kinder people, except perhaps in Toronto. Kidding. I find that people everywhere are kind to kind people. People in Toronto are wonderful in my experience, but rushed, and people here are just lovely too. Your daughter will be fine.

    Take care,

    Barbara

  6. Hi R.,

Thanks so much. I'm in an internet cafe, so my time is limited. I'll be back commenting on your blog as soon as I have more time on the net.

I'm glad you like my work. Your blues inspire mine.

    Take care,

    Barbara

  7. Wow Barbara. Your colors always blow me away. This is absolutely gorgeous!

Enjoy your break from the grind. Sounds divine. Who needs technology? Well....a lot of us, but it's nice to get away from it once in a while.
