Riding along the little highways out here in Nova
Scotia we frequently see streams of people on
motorcycles. Steven explains to me that people
like motorcycles for the thrill of the road. But
the thrill of the road for me is a comfortable
car, books on CD and the occasional stop
at favorite spots along the way.
For the next couple of days I won't have time
to paint, so forgive me if I show you some
photos of what I've been looking at instead.
Have a loving-the-thrill-of-the-road day

Ha, ha!! I loved your comedic timing with your version of "the thrill of the road." Glad I wasn't drinking a cup of tea at the time...
Love this photo. Thank you for sharing it. We would love to see more of the country if you want to share them.
However, I'm a bit confused. What is all of that green stuff in front of the house? It looks like someone sprayed all of the ground with a green substance. It's pretty, though. ;-)
Hi Melinda,
That green stuff is grass, and maybe some bushes and flowers not yet in bloom. Nova Scotia, like Toronto has had a cool summer, and lots of rain. There have been a few hot (yikes) days lately, and everyone is complaining about the terrible summer. Oh yes. Well we've been loving it. One friend of mine said she long ago quit pegging weather to happiness and I agree. We walked on the beach in what they call drizzle here, and drizzle is a misty soft rain, almost like fog. We weren't even wet when we climbed back in the car.
Love Nova Scotia, and miss you!

So glad you're enjoying your holiday, Barbara- and thanks for sharing this beautiful photo!
Hi Susan,
This house is a whirl of charm as we barrel past heading to buy our groceries, or back to walk on the beach. The other day I asked Steven to stop the car, so I could take a picture. There are so many lovely buildings to look at on the way, that it would be hard to pick just one, but this one is pretty great.

I am a road gypsy and a kindred spirit. My husband and I go to Parrsboro, Nova Scotia to a little cottage on the Bay of Fundy. His mama was from there and I love the place. Been going every summer since 1997 and last Fall my hubby treated two of my painter girlfriends to a week in October. Heaven!!
I have you on my links by the way.
Hi Mary,
Thanks so much. It's amazing isn't it? I am deeply in love with that province, and having driven around 90% of the coast, I can say the whole place is just gorgeous.
I'm having trouble with adding gadgets and still don't have my blog list back since the last time I lost the whole thing. When I get some help here, I'm adding more names. Please remind me of this in a month or so. And meanwhile thanks so much for putting me on your list.
Take care,
Barbara
