Hi everyone,
In case I forget to tell you in the rush of school starting again
and all the painting work I have to do in the next few
weeks, I will be the featured artist on HGTV's Pure
Design on Tuesday, November the 10th at 9 p.m.
The show's host Samantha Pynn will come to my studio
to talk about a painting I did for a room featured
on the segment. I'll tell you more about the whole
delightful experience, after it airs. I have no idea
how long the piece about me will be, (probably
a minute or two at most) because it fits into the
entire show, which is about decorating a room
in a young couple's house.
And of course I can't post the painting, until after
the show has aired. Let me just say that I'm really
pleased with the result, and it was a lot of fun. So
program this into your iCal please.
Today's charcoal sketch is of my neighbour
Davide Tonizzo, who lives across the street.
It isn't a completely faithful sketch of Davide,
who I think has more character than this portrays,
but I still like the drawing. You can watch Davide's
new videos about his fabulous designs for
everything from trucks, to furniture, even
tableware by clicking the link on his name.
We joke a lot about the Cherryhooders, because
there are quite a few creative people on our street.
Have a very Happy Halloween!
Congrats Barbara!! I'm thrilled for you and can't wait to see it.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you and Steven!!! xooxo
Congratulations! Sounds like you're movin right along. I'm proud of ya!
ReplyDeleteDo you suppose creative people congregate without even realizing it? Sometimes it seems so.
EW
Barbara, you are getting to be a regular celebrity! Congratulations... it couldn't be happening to a kinder person!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Nicki
Hi Flora,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. And it was a super birthday for me today.

Hi Eldon,
ReplyDeleteYes -- it's pretty exciting!!!!
I don't know about creative people congregating, maybe we can just afford to live in the same neighbourhood. All I know is that I feel lucky in my neighbourhood and my blog world. I'm proud of you too.
Take care,
Barbara
Hi Nicki,
ReplyDeleteI think maybe artists need a bit of that. Try to get a radio interview when your show opens. You are the perfect artist for a bit of a talk show. Or TV!!! Thanks. You are sweet.
Take care,
Barbara
SO COOL! That is such a fun little show and now even more special because you're going to be on it. I do hope they do you well. You never know what is going to end up in the paper or TV. This is so exciting and I am so excited for you. Just fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHappy Dance, Happy Dance :-)
More Happy Dance but now with cake and party hats.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday my celebrity friend!
Whoo--hooo! I'm so excited for you, Barbara!! Congratulations and best wishes for a great tv appearance on the 10th. I can hardly wait to see it.
ReplyDeleteYou're on your way to great things. And, I'm so glad you had a good birthday in such a creative neighborhood.
Hi LeSan,
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't thank you earlier. The weekend was a bit of a whirl, then school started yesterday and I am once again doing the fine tight rope balancing act. Are we winning? Me, myself and I. I think so so far.
I like the Happy Dance (isn't that the only way to dance) they use it in an ad here for winning the lottery, which would be a handy event in an artist's life. I feel like I won it big time, when I started the blog, and got to meet
people like you. Happy Dance!!!
Take care,
Barbara
