( As you can see the shell is gone.
I'll take another picture of this
tomorrow before she flies to New York.
The colour is not right, so I'll photograph
it outside in the morning.)
the boy up. That's 12 hours in the car. So I am tired
and happy to have my son, Sam, home from university.
He's moving out of residence into a good house next year,
but in the mean time we have him here and get to enjoy him.
I am getting my work ready to ship tomorrow,
so I'm afraid this will be super short. We listened
to Malcolm Gladwell What The Dog Saw in the car
on the way home, and arrived home erudite as all
get out. Love those books on CD.
Have a wrapping-it-all-up day.
This is fabulous, Barbara!

Hi Kim,
ReplyDeletePerfect -- thanks so much! The three young women I painted are wonderful people, so I'm glad you think they're perfect. They are too.
Take care,
Barbara
Hi Theresa,
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted that you like these paintings. I felt great joy contemplating making them, and supreme satisfaction when they were done because the women who posed are all wonderful people. It's Earth Day and they are the ones who will save the planet.

still the same young pretty thin models being exalted
ReplyDeleteHi Samuel,
ReplyDeleteSorry you feel that way. These are the people I know and am incredibly fond of. The series is about the loss of our oceans. These young people who are kind enough to model for me are the ones who will have to save the planet. I'm sorry if you don't see the people you want to see here. I paint the people who are available, and the people who commission me to paint them. If you look closely, the body sizes of the young women varies quite a bit. Also you need to check out my slideshow and see the wide variety there. I'd be delighted to see your paintings.
Take care,
Barbara
