Late night painting after fireworks

In the park -- ready for summer
Stages 7 and 8
Acrylic on canvas

It's far to late to write anything now. We drove all
the way across the city to watch the Ashbridge's Bay
spectacular fireworks display from an accessible
beach. It was worth it, but I came home and worked
on this until this minute.

It is very close to finished. I am very pleased and
will probably be finished in all but the odd insistent
detail tomorrow.

Have an aren't-long-weekends-great? day

  1. Hi Barbara,

The portraits are beautiful. I hope you don't have to change a thing.

  6. Hi Josephine,

Thanks so much. Well of course I'll change this and that until my client sees it this week.

  8. Hi Kim,

Thank you so much. I am certainly working on keeping it lively. Imagine these three children -- the amount of energy and joy in the family -- the painting has to capture that.

    Take care,

    Barbara

  10. Hi Melinda,

Thanks so much. My son Sam said it had a Group of Seven feeling, which I wasn't exactly working on, but maybe those pine trees bring that out in me.

  11. Hi Barbara!.... "I" love the very rich...vibrant colour in this one... almost... as much as "I" love the intimacy and personal flavour that "You" have included in a very successful "recipe" here!

"You" should indeed be happy and proud of this work... finished or not! Forge ahead!

    Good Painting!
    Warm regards,
