son Christopher and wondered what it would
be like to draw a larger image from that little
wallet picture. He was such an adorable boy.
The photo said so much. I could see another
example of one of the home haircuts I did so
inexpertly. His smile says that he's trying to
do the right thing and pose, but his face even
then showed his tremendous sense of humour.
He looks about five in the picture.

He's been a great person to know from day one.
And I feel he's taught me at least as much as
I've taught him, if not more.
Have a penciling-in-the-past day.
He is cute! I like the idea of bringing out old photos to use as subjects. Well done!
ReplyDeleteAh-inspiration again-I was thinking this morning that I've got to spend more time drawing and now I will use that box of old photos in my studio to play with. And I have some class photos with my famous crooked bangs haircuts on my children as well. Thanks Barbara!
ReplyDeleteA very sweet boy! And you captured that 100%, Barbara!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. Great idea. I look at old photos from time to time and really enjoy the experience of creating something based on those memories.
Take care,
Barbara
Hi Chris,
ReplyDeleteWell weren't we the brave pioneer mothers trying to save some pennies here and there. Or maybe the kids just hated going to the barber. I always thought they'd give them brushcuts. What do you know -- that's what my oldest likes now -- very short hair.
Take care,
Barbara
Hi Liza,
ReplyDeleteHe was and is a complete sweetheart -- he's given me so much fun in my life.
