Saturday on the hoist

Steven and I are hard workers who relish a free day.  But
today started with the alarm going off even earlier than
on an official work day because we had to be at the
garage by 7:30 a.m. to be first in line to get my car changed over
to winter tires.  We were, and after a pleasant morning spent
across the street at the mall writing holiday cards, we went
home in a safer car.  Snow, they say is coming here big time.

Just a quick drawing tonight of the location for the subject
most on my mind, sleep. And here's a bed to do it in.
I didn't sleep at all last night -- my problem with extra
early wake up times.  I'm vigilant -- for the whole night.

Have an I-got-a-good-night's-sleep day.

oh Barbara, i hope you are able to get a good sleep tonight. Your bed looks inviting...even in black and white.

Sweet drawing of one of my favorite places. I have a bit of Rip Van Winkle blood in me ;)
I too, lose sleep if I have to get up extra early for a trip or such.

When I was in college I had a class that required we make a drawing a day; I found myself stumped daily about what to draw, as I didn't find my surroundings very "scenic." Your lovely drawing reminds me there are subjects all around!

Hi Liza,

Thanks so much. It is certainly the weather for cuddling up under the covers.

Hi Sally,

Thanks so much. I'm not very good at staying awake all night, but I'm excellent at catching up on sleep. My formula? Novel, reading....Oh oh what time is it?

Got to watch that.

Hi Mary,

I think it's the Rip Van Winkle phenomenon that makes the idea of an early start such an anathema.

Glad you understand.

Hi Laura,

I believe that how I got to wherever I am today is by my sometimes unwitting need to draw wherever I am. The worst is in restaurants where people will suddenly catch the direction of your absorbed gaze and see the pen moving on a notebook. I try to be discreet.
