kitchen at exactly this time of year. My
model was wonderful, and I regret that I never
got an excellent picture of the painting.
It was painted as an expression of total
joy at a time in my life that was anything but
easy. Family illnesses and hardships filled our
lives with worry, but I was determined to
see the good things. And of course there are
always reasons to be joyous, even in the
hard times. The painting sold before I was
even certain it was finished, and taught me
to photograph my work before it heads out the
door.
I have to go to bed tonight because I teach
so early. So have a great day tomorrow.
Have a loving-your-work day.
Barbara you can just feel the love in this painting. Your kitchen looks so pretty with all the flowers in it all the time. It's good to focus on the good memories when sadness is around. I currently have a close friend who is dying so i'm thinking about her lots these days; but it helps to think about the love and richness her presence in this world is leaving on all those that love her.
ReplyDeleteBarbara, this one is full of love and joy and all of your gorgeous smiling colors, too!
ReplyDeleteBarbara, this has a string of your beautiful, signature hearts in it and beautiful color!!!!
ReplyDeletelove, Marcia
Hi Sally,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. It is essential to try and focus on good memories. I am so sorry about your friend. Yes it's true. The love continues. Some good friends in our neighbourhood have died and we talk about them often. They are still alive in our loving memories. That's for sure.

Hi Linny,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I think my son made the cake the model is eating in the picture, so I can almost smell the scene, because he was making a wonderful chocolate cake recipe from a friend's cookbook and he made the icing too.

Hi Marcia,
ReplyDeleteYes I bought a string of shiny hearts about ten years ago, and they go back in the Valentine's decorations box just in time for St. Patrick's Day. Ach yes, a good old Scottish holiday!
