mind are one place, and my spirit and heart are elsewhere.
I loved New York. I spent Mother's Day at the MoMA,
in Central Park, at a café in Soho, and topped a day of
incredible walks off with a dinner at a superb Italian
restaurant, and a quick hike over to Times Square and
back.
Me with Steven in Central Park,
New York City on Sunday
But I missed my sons and the kind of fun filled dinner wewould have had together if I'd been home. So I was delighted
to come home and find that Sam had made me a delicious
oatmeal, chocolate chip cookie in the shape of a B (for
Barbara) and to be able to give him a hug.
The B Cookie Sam made me for Mother's Day
piping hot out of the oven when I got in
the door from my flight on Monday. Yum.
Have loving-your-family day
Glad you are home now safe and sound. What a sweet thing for your Sam to do. New York... sigh... seems that you are still in that state of mind!

Your tulips (& all of your work) delight me, Barbara!
ReplyDeletethat Newly Pink one is a little gem Barbara. I know what you mean about spring fever it is spell-binding.
ReplyDeleteHi Nicki,
ReplyDeleteThere always is that sigh of relief when you get off the plane and are safe. I think I am firmly back in Toronto now. But New York is certainly one of my favorite places in the world. No question. The people are wonderful, the vibe is electric, and there is so much to see and do, that you could really never see it all.

Hi Linny,
ReplyDeleteAren't you sweet. I feel exactly the same way about your wonderful work.

Hi Sally,
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing? I am in the studio concentrating, and step out onto the back porch to see my cherry tree in full bloom, tulips coming up and a sea of blue forget-me-nots. Of course the lawn needs to be cut, and there is a mountain of weeding to do, but without touching the garden it is absolutely beautiful.

You two look so NY cool and your paintings are all beautiful, Barbara!!(I was certain that I'd commented on some of these posts - maybe blog clog or some other fog...maybe mine?!)
ReplyDeleteHi Nicki,
ReplyDeleteI think I responded to you and then Blogger went down. Whew! Yes Sam was so sweet, and New York is a hard state of mind to abandon. But today we drove by whole hillsides covered with trees in that new spring green, and I was delighted to be here. The good thing about being an artist is that the world is a great place to be.

Hi Linny,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. It was the blog clog, because I feel like I've responded too. Funny and strange. I would miss you like crazy if I couldn't read your blog. Facebook certainly helped when the blog was down. It was down for soooo long.

Hi Sally,
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed you there. Thank you
so much. I must have been so excited
about meeting you that I felt like I'd already answered you. Spring fever is absolutely spellbinding. (Maybe I did answer this and then the blog went down.)I don't know.
