In a new light

I've told you the sad saga of how our art grouplost its home, and the happy story of how we've
found a new one. On Tuesday night I try to
make the time to paint at the new location, and
have found it thoroughly enjoyable. True I miss
the old place, in a picturesque setting with
excellent facilities. But the new place has new
members and our group has not lost its sense
of humour. It seems to me that it's more fun
than ever going to the portrait and figure evenings,
because everyone has fun. I can't stay long because
my current work commitments mean that all of my
time is tight.
Woops I meant to mention that we all got fantastic
portfolio cases the other night. It was some kind
of wonderful result of the move. What a lovely
surprise.
A shout out to my friend George Shane, who I miss
terribly. George is not up to attending at the moment,
and it was one of the distinct pleasures of Tuesday
night to watch his skillful and joyful paintings
develop.
Here's the painting sketch I did last night.
Have an enjoying-your-wonderful-friends day.
Hi Barbara, I love this one. I feel that I am getting a glance into what this lady is about - if that makes sense. As always your use of colour blows me away too. At first glance you see the model has dark hair and then when you really look you see all the colour that combines to give that impression.

Nice work, Barbara! I'm so happy that you're all enjoying the new place. Sometimes things work out better than before. So glad this is one of them. Plus, a present?! How cool is that?
ReplyDeleteHi Tammy,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. She is a beautiful model. Love your work.

Hi Pam,
ReplyDeleteSo far so good. One of the great painters I admire in the club, says the space isn't the club -- we are.
He's right we are.

Hi Sally,
ReplyDeleteI am lucky, and lucky to know you. There must be painting groups in Kingston.

Hi Flora,
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go, but I'm teaching. I love Christopher Schink's work.

Hi Melinda,
ReplyDeleteThe new place is not as fancy as the old, but the new people we're meeting are soooo funny. I enjoy that, and that's what matters.
