A summery Thanksgiving

This past weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving and
we had a great one.  We spent the time with our family
and extended family, eating so much turkey, stuffing,
roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, salad and pumpkin pie,
that it was hard to get back to normal today.  In short we
had a really wonderful Thanksgiving.

I've said it before -- the great thing about our Thanksgiving
is that it isn't religious.  Everyone can take part -- because
it's about the harvest.  So we went to the market and bought
flowers and fruit, and the end-of-season tomatoes.  It was
so lovely.  And so warm that many people celebrated in their
shorts -- a first in my memory.

My painting today is the flower painting, modified again.
I think it's in its final version, but I'm not sure.  With a show
coming up in three weeks, anything is possible.

The days are definitely shorter.

    Your Thanksgiving sounds like it was a lot of fun and Steven's pies look sooooo yummy. Our T'giving is in November and I'm looking forward to it. :-)

    I like what you've done - definitely looks finished and beautiful! And I am seriuosly craving pumpkin pie. Just didn't get enough. Think I'll be baking some today!

    Thanks so much. Canadian Thanksgiving is not the big deal American Thanksgiving is. It's just a meal (or two) shared with family and friends. But I absolutely love it. Oh and we get a day off.

    I am pumpkin pied to the max, now have to dance and walk vigorously to get back to normal -- rice and beans for a month I think. Thanks so much.
    Steven makes awesome any kind of pie.
    But the two I adore are pumpkin and cherry.

    This year we may add peach pie in February.

    I'm hoping you'll come here sometime and have Thanksgiving with us. That would be awesome. Most years you'd need a sweater. But not this one. it was mighty hot in the kitchen with that turkey!

    Sounds and looks really great, your thanksgiving. We don't celebrate it like that here, although its such a nice idea.
    Your flowers look fantastic! Lush and abundant. I just noticed that it is a larger painting, which must be wonderful to see it in real.
