What was left behind

Alyson Stanfield asks today what we would
leave behind or shred from the past year.  Here's
an image that makes me laugh, even though I
will no doubt see a similar sight again.  It's
my bed where I retreat to mark papers, and there
they are piled all around me.  I can leave that
image behind, or share it with you here -- because
it is funny, and in high contrast to my bed now --
a novel, a cup of chamomile tea -- pure pleasure.
