Fiona (work in progress)

The painting today is of one of the sweetest animals
I have ever known -- my Siamese cat, Fiona. Fiona
is intelligent and the emotional monitor in our house.
She does not like arguing -- at all! And she lives
in a house with a man and woman with strong
opinions. As she grew she became a conversation
cop. We are not allowed, basically, to get annoyed
with one another -- and if we do, and we raise
our voices, Fiona yowls, interferes, makes a
nuisance of herself. Brilliant tactic. We can't
ignore her, and end up laughing and when she
feels she's settled matters, she either goes to bed
or plays with one of her toys, or sits on someone's knee.

I made minor changes to this painting today -- mostlyto the face.

Of course if you didn't argue, Fiona wouldn't get to exercise her moral authority and how could you be so mean as to deprive her of that, she is a cat after all!
Both paintings are simply amazing!

Hi Marcia,
Everyone says that dogs are the ones who pay attention to people the most. Not true. They are there of course, but our cats really care. They sit on us and purr, Fiona monitors all moods, and exercises her moral authority. Funny!

super paintings Barbara. That is one smart feline, adept in social balance
Hi Sally,
She is very smart, and fussy. The other animals eat on the floor, she eats on the lovely table Steven made that's in front of our kitchen window. Plus it has to be cleaned up for her -- nothing but her plate -- not Steven's phone, or newspapers.
She is funny and smart, and very loving. She can't go downstairs to bed without saying goodnight to me.
XOXOXOXO Barbara
