Getting Happy

Winter tea in the gallery (work in progress)

Have you heard Pharrell Williams singing Happy.
I listened to the short version the other day watching
the video, and I thought this is me.  Today I'd planned
to watch the 24 hour version of the video, but I was
painting pretty hard, so I could listen, not watch.
The idea  is cool, but the short version has the whole
song and it is just so fine.  "Clap along if you feel like
happiness is the truth."

Here's what I've been working on.  It's not quite done,
but I need to get back to it tomorrow.  Almost there.
Meanwhile I've been dancing a lot today and this
painter's putting away the paints, taking a break.
But I can tell you that after a long, sad time, feeling
happy is the best feeling in the world.  Thanks for
making me feel so happy to be an artist in this super
community of wonderful people.

Have a happy, happy day.

  1. I love it! Hope you kept warm today. Brr! That tea looks inviting. My favourite bit? The surface of the tea! Nice!

  2. Hi Kim,

Thank you. I am dressed almost like an arctic explorer. Although my studio is probably the hottest space in the house. I better put tea in the other cup. And we'd better have some together.

    XOXOXO Barbara

  3. o Barbara this painting is spectacular! gorgeous! The reflections really grab your eye and make you look around the painting, it's so entertaining. O, and I can just imagine you singing and dancing along while you're painting this one in your studio! I'm happy that you're feeling happy again.

  4. Hi Sally,

Thank you so much. We ate so much over Christmas and New Years that I really have to move. This is a really slow painting, but I'm happy it's coming together little by little.

    Love you work.

    XOXOXO Barbara
