Believers in positive thought (count me in)SOLD ♥
think that the more you can move your mind
in a positive direction the more positive your
experiences will be. The thinking goes that
praciticing staying positive will attract
wonderful experiences into your life.
Of course it doesn't always work. And when
you're down for an inescapable sorrow, you
can't just leap up and be happy. But I have
been trying out the five actions for Happiness
proposed by Shawn Achor this week, and it
has been an astoundingly wonderful week!
I've been having a great time and plan to
keep working on thinking this way.
I have met some amazing bright minded
people this week. Dazzlingly intelligent
even. I've had superb talks with artist
friends and am packed with a passion for
painting.
Today it is hot in Toronto +6 Celsius.
Warm and steamy with fog and snow
melting. It looks like winter, but here in
Toronto it seems like summer after
minus 35 Celsius last week.
In terms of the new year, the heat is on,
because it's time to think about what big
projects to get involved in, where and
what to show, and what to create.
Have a getting-a-great-year-going day.

Your bowl of cherries runneth over.

I so enjoyed Shawn Achor's TED Talk, thank you Barbara!
I find the red-green complements the hardest to work with, but this is a bravura performance: brilliant!
Hi Marilyn,
Isn't he something. I am trying to use these methods every day, and my happiness quotient is skyrocketing.
How lovely.
Love your work.
XOXOXO Barbara
Hi Laura,
Thank you so much. That made my evening I must say. Love what you are doing. So wonderful.
XOXOXO Barbara
The cherries look sooo delish! The birch panels definitely agree with you.
Also great post, thanks for the link. Question - do you drive all five horses at once or one at a time?
Love,
Marcia
Hi Marcia,
As in 5 horsepower, like a motorboat engine. That seems about right today -- small boat, small engine. Glad you like the cherries. I painted this from a photo of cherries in the window in the schoolhouse. Could have gone into detail on the bowl, the
pretty little flower detail, the gold edge. I decided not to.
Isn't it strange that you can have favorite bowls to eat from. This is one of mine.
Love,
Barbara
