On the joyful lake

It's late and before I head off to bed here's a littlepainting of one idyllic moment this past summer.
Steven and I were visiting my daughter-in-law's
parents in their glorious summer home. We
walked down the very steep hill to the lake,
sat on the dock and were blown away by the
spectacular clouds. It wasn't very warm, but
we all went swimming and had a purely
summer vacation afternoon.
Great company, a sweet dog, a quiet lake, and the
joy of swimming. Perfect. We don't live in the
past, but the past lives in us. I'm grateful for this
little piece of summer on a cold, winter's day. This
is the second time I've painted this view. Let me know
if you remember the first time.
Have a sitting on the lake of happy dreams day
those clouds....they is dancing;)
ReplyDeleteHi Sally,
ReplyDeleteThe cottage is not that far from Kingston, and I have to say I saw the most spectacular clouds on that quiet lake. Part of it is protected, and it is very peaceful, and beautiful.

Hi Marcia,
ReplyDeleteThank you. It is a very small painting, so it's a small, but happy dream. I'm delighted that you like it.
