Okay I sketched again today, after a 17and1/2 hourworking day out of the house. I came home
to a husband who had set the table and made
a delicious dinner and waited until 10:15 p.m.
to eat with me -- knowing that my day today
began at 5:30 a.m. It was a great day.
Highlights? A fellow teacher telling me
he was 110% feeling great, and me responding,
150%. I love positive people -- they transform
the day.
A fast five minute meditation by Lilou Mace
that energized me for the evening's work.
A quick visit from my son and his girlfriend --
so sweet and funny.
And meeting and talking to wonderful people
all day.
So I decided to draw on another piece of
palette paper over a mix of blue paint again.
This is my good man, persuaded by
my cat Timbah to go outside and sit with him
enjoying the day. It is based on a photo taken
a few minutes after the inside one I drew
yesterday with Timbah crawling on Steven's
shoulder while Steven was working.
Have a noticing-your-joy day.
that is definately one good man you have there, making you dins and waiting for you like that. what a sweetie. nice drawings of him and Timbah. wow you sound so up to your eyeballs...good luck with your hectic schedule and thanks for the meditation link, it was lovely.
ReplyDeleteHi Sally,
ReplyDeleteI do feel a bit up to my eyeballs on Tuesday -- my longest day (ever I think -- except with newborns). And life is good. Thanks so much for your sweet comment. I'm going to catch up with blogs I've missed today.
XOXOXOXOXOBarbara
Love your work.
Hi Barbara, Just catching up on your last few posts. I love the two of your husband and cat - just wonderful! What a sweet man he is looking after you so well! I will look up the meditation link - I have just completed the 30 day challenge in sketches but alas, haven't been able to translate that willpower into meditation and getting early nights. Will need to ponder why I find it easier to stick to my guns in one arena more than another. Do you have any insights on that Barbara? You strike me as someone who has good balance in your life!
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet compliment. Balance? Hmmm. That would be nice. Maybe if we overload ourselves with challenges, the mind/body rebels. As in slow down on those challenges. Getting to be early is not my thing. Meditation is addictive and helpful. So it's not at all hard to work in 5 or 10 minutes here and there in the day. It's especially good when you know you want to sleep and there's no time for it.
Love your work!
XOXOXOXOXO Barbara
Wendy that should read getting to bed early. It is early in the morning, not my best time. ;-)
