The whole thing -- and have to sleep!

Oh painter friends.  Sleep is apparently very
important, and I am craving it now.  I feel
like I have been painting solidly for days.
And maybe I have. It's been a great pleasure.
I am painting the land and water and sky
I love in Nova Scotia, and dream about all
year.

I first started loving clouds (in the sky I've
always loved them in your paintings) when
a friend in Tucson started sending them
to cheer me up.  Which is funny of course
because she has no control over our weather --
but it became a story between us.

I thank Melinda, and Lynn for talking me through
this baby.  It was a major helps to distract
myself with their delightful conversation and
get this baby done.

Thank you to all my friends for your inspiration
and support.  It's bed time.

Have a getting-some-sleep day.

oh my Barbara this is spectacular! I just love what you did here. I think all that meditating and contemplation has inspired the almighty within you, because there is something very big here, not only in size but in concept. it's really beautiful. xoxoxo

Hi Barbara -- this latest painting is stunning: the refracted light from the sun, the glorious blue sky and the tethering earth. Magnifico! Love - Mary Lou

Barbara, your sky paintings are fantastic! I am very impressed and imagine they must be even more impressive when seen in the actual size. I found myself thinking of you lately when I look up at the sky and admire the clouds here over London. Just like Barbara's painting!

Keep up the good work! Love, Liza

You've been teasing us with detail shots and now we have the pleasure of seeing the entire painting - and it was worth the wait, Barbara.
My first thought was...wow, I could snuggle up with those heavenly downy clouds! Then I read your post - so funny...perhaps you were thinking likewise?
: )
love this painting, Barbara, and I hope you have rested up dear one.

Hi Marcia,

Thank you. I dropped off my last painting to the gallery today, and felt good seeing this baby on the wall. A great feeling.

Love your work, and would love to see you!

XOXOXOXOXO Barbara

Hi Sally,

Maybe you're right Sally. I just love painting clouds. And of course they are contemplative. But also a respite, and pretty much always around. Sitting in traffic I have to remind myself to pull my eyes down in long line ups, and concentrate! Those clouds are so alluring.

XOXOXOXOXO Barbara

Hi Mary Lou,

Thank you. You are lucky to see these country scenes every day, and I'm lucky to have my breath taken away once a year by their beauty.

Hi Liza,

A huge compliment coming from you, as I have long admired your skies, and everything else --people, buildings, light, atmosphere that you paint. Wish I could see you in person!

Hi Laurel,

Monday is my short night, and Tuesday a 17 1/2 hour work day. So
rest, which is illusive, is essential. Thank you for giving me permission. Tonight could be the night. The paintings are in the gallery, they look good. All is well.

I love your work.

XOXOXOXOXO Barbara

Hi Marilyn,

I know you know the push before a show. This time it was a good push. I took great pleasure in painting these cloud scenes from beautiful Nova Scotia. They lifted my heart way up! As did your sweet compliment. Thank you.

XOXOXOXOXO Barbara

Wow Barbara, This blows me away!! It is glorious to see online but it must bring the viewer to their knees when viewing in the flesh!
I have loved clouds all my life but have yet to paint a close up cloud-scape that has worked. You inspire me to try again. You might be interested to know that there is a cloud appreciation society in existence. They have a great website and also a great book called "The Cloudspotter's Guide" penned by the founder of the society. It is both quirky and informative and I'm pleased to have a copy gracing my book shelves.
I hope you got a good sleep!

Hi Wendy,

You amaze me. I stand in awe like a supplicant under the sky -- happy as can be. But I'm not scientific and probably not accurate either. Just having a wonderful time, and wish I was there. A good feeling. Love your work.

XOXOXOXOXO Barbara

It is pretty cool Nicki, and lots of interest in this one. I conclude that many people like their clouds round and full! Good to know.

XOXOXOXO Barbara
