Fiona and me

Happy one week in 2015. It's been an eventfulone. My drawing tonight is of me with my
Siamese cat, Fiona, who looks like a mouse
from above -- a very big mouse. Fiona is like
a familiar to me, she both loves me
and scolds me on the rare occasions
when I step out of line in her opinion.
She finds the current Toronto temperatures
of minus 30 degrees Celsius with the
windchill disturbing, so is shown here trying
to warm up by snuggling against a
human. Me.

Wind chill is the key. Here to the south without the wind chill, it's only -15℃, with it -23℃ and in Montreal a bracing -37℃.
It will feel less challenging in a day or two, but Fiona being a cat will still want to cuddle.
Delightful drawing - you two are an item.

I love your marker sketches Barbara - especially the self-portraits. They're so efficiently and wonderfully expressive, each line has a purpose.
Thank you as always for checking in. Your comments are like flowers on my window sill - they keep me smiling throughout my day.
: )
We have a ch-chilly 21 degrees in Dripping Springs, TX.
Just realized that your temps C translate to -22 degrees F...yikes! I hope you're still on holiday break and get to stay inside. Fiona is a blessing.
Ach aye Marcia! Lucky you in balmy Hamilton. Of course I'm sure our
many condos don't help the issue one bit. Yes Fiona will want to cuddle.
Love her!
Actually both Sally and Timbah want to be very close to the small electric heater in the bedroom!
And Sally has wisely grown a very thick coat. Very smart looking too.
XOXOXOXOXO Barbara
Hi Marilyn,
Thank you so much. I do love your work. Amazing paintings. Sounds pretty cool for Texas, apparently it's warmer today, but still subzero.
A few weeks of this and teenagers will go out in T-shirts when it reaches zero!
XOXOXOXOXO Barbara
Hi Marilyn,
You get pretty good at negotiating this weather, as long as the heat and hydro stay on. I am on the hunt for a good down coat that fits though. Equipment is key. Yes our three sweet animals are definitely a blessing.
XOXOXOXOXO Barbara
