Thinking about family

Today my son helped me download some
old family photos from my childhood.
I drew this little sketch from a photo of
my brother that caught my eye.  He looked
so indignant.  He must have been about seven or
eight.

It touched me to see the look on his face
-- pretty much 'get the camera out of here!'
He was wearing my dressing gown, unwell,
and had an infection on his foot.

The photo moved me, and I'm sure my father
wouldn't mind me creating art from his art.
I'm thinking about a series -- but it's just thoughts
now.

Have a thinking-about-your-family day.

so fun when percolating ideas for a series...this portrait sketch is intriguing and sketching old photos must be fun and be quite poignant.

Thank You Sally. I do like your thoughts. It was poignant looking at the photo reference. My mind is going in 10 directions at the moment on possible series. So we will see!

Love your work.
