This house -- is a perfect example of a Nova ScotiaSOLD ♥
clapboard farmhouse. It's a sight I crave when I'm not
in the province. This particular house means that we
are almost there -- almost to the small town of Pugwash,
almost to our school house -- almost home to Nova
Scotia.
I have never met the owners, who would probably be
flabbergasted that I've painted their house more than once.
In fact this painting needs to have a #2 added to its name
because I sold a different view of it last year with the
same name!
What is particularly happy news for me is that the sight
of that house meant Nova Scotia, and nostalgia for a
beloved place to the buyer too. So even though the
painting will live in Ontario, it will bring the beauty of
Nova Scotia to the collectors who now own it.
A very happy ending all round. Thank you owners of
this iconic house. Your house makes me happy every time
I see it.
Have a loving-what-you-see day.

What a lovely painting! I can hear and even feel the breeze in those grasses. And yes, I believe I could live happily in that house too.

Hi Verna,
Feels like it's been way too long. You make my heart sing with your comments.
Love what you're doing with colour. I thought of you tonight because my
students were writing essays, and I couldn't talk, so I started making circle
drawings and used my coffee as paint. I felt connected and here you are. Magic.
XOXOXOXOXOXO Barbara
Yes, it has been a long time. I do go in and out of communications, and I've really been a lot in the studio lately, plus a few other things needing attention. However through it all I continue to read your blog posts and derive great enjoyment from your enthusiasm and spirit.
How cool that you are able to make drawings while your students write. I think it would be a good energy feeling to be in the room with everyone writing, their thoughts and ideas and the creative effort, a very good vibe. Good thing you had your coffee with you!

Hi Verna,
I too go in and out of communicating. Good for you spending a lot of time in the studio. I have a painting
aching for my time, and I need to spend more studio time. It is definitely a good feeling to have students in
a writing course writing. But lonely for the prof, because I really only do that twice a week so I can talk
and have fun. We artists get plenty of time alone. I did draw a bit, and paint a bit (with coffee), something I
learned on the airlines going to and from Paris, but I'm always glad when my students can talk and exchange ideas.
XOXOXOXOXOXO Barbara
