Creativity and movement in the month of Fresh Starts

Untitled (Work in progress)

When people get stuck in my writing class, I sometimes
suggest a short walking break.  After five minutes of
movement new ideas surface.  A good thing to remember.
I'm still working on this painting.  I came home from a walk
and changed it again, and it is definitely moving in the direction
I want to go.  Not entirely done, but getting there.

It is a stunningly beautiful day here.  The birds are singing
so joyously.  The sun is out, and everything in the backyard
is moving, shaking and growing. My neighbour's forsythia
sends a message of yellow blooms across the fence.

Have a moving towards a new idea day.

  1. It is a very beautiful day for a walk. The sun has been out all day. Just what we have been hoping for! This painting is coming along so beautifully. I wonder whether your going out for a walk gave you more ideas as you looked around about you that you used in your painting? Have a great evening...xo

  2. Hi Judi,

I used the idea of a walk the other day in my class, and it helped them. They just walked in the hall together as a team, and came back problem solved. My friend and I went walking and when I went back in the studio I thought take another look and changed some things. I will take another walk, and another look tomorrow and change more things until the painting says. "Done lady. Cut me loose." Love your work Judi.

    XOXOXOXOXOXO Barbara
