Until recently our store room was so thick with what
doesn't fit anywhere else, that I could hardly getat my art drawers. These are the treasure trove of
older watercolours and drawings, ideas for paintings,
art by my children, house designs. They are big
drawers, and deep, so a nice thick stack of paintings
and drawings can safely hide in one of them.
Tonight rifling through for something to show you
I found this beauty on the theme of pansies. It is
certainly from a few years back, and it made me
marvel at how my style changes. Even the bud vase
showing off these pansies has been given away to
someone because it wasn't my thing anymore.
But I love it here. I love the moodiness and richness
it conveys. It makes me happy just looking at it.
And if you're interested -- it's available unframed.
Have a loving your work day.
So pretty Barbara. I'm loving the rich colours and that's a sweet vase. Its great to have pictures and paintings for memory as reminders and to be able to track how style and experience changes things.... xo
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Judi. It is a sweet vase. I don't remember why I let it go, but
ReplyDeleteI love how it looks here. Love your work.
XOXOXOXOXO Barbara
Perfectly lovely.
ReplyDeleteI have in the past been too hasty to throw out paintings I wasn't happy with. Now I hold on to them and they either serve as a marker of how I've changed or grow on me!
Thank you so much Laura,
ReplyDeleteI think I will still discard some paintings if I can't paint over what I've done.
But yes I think this didn't suit me at the time, and it isn't what I'm doing now,
but I appreciate it. And I'm glad I kept it.
Love your work.
XOXOXOXOXO Barbara
