This is a hard time to have a birthday. But a good time to
be celebrating if you have one. I send my friend some
virtual lemon meringue pie -- her favourite, and raise
a toast to a wonderful year with lots of sales despite
the pandemic.
Thank you for the kind words Barbara! And the pie was tasty too! ;) Someday we’ll be looking back on this time with as much disbelief as we are having now...only it will be mixed with relief. Thanks for your blog too. ‘Tis a ray of sunshine...and having said that, it just literally burst through the clouds here! Yay!
Thank you so much Flora, for your beautiful work, and your comment that made my day. I was saying that would happen to Steven today. This will end, and we'll think about who we were, and what we did with the time. We need to carve a space away from the harsh reality, and somehow use the time creatively. So glad the sun came out for the birthday girl. Every time I look at your work I feel like I am in a sunny garden. Happy as can be.
Thanks so much -- but this isn't my painting. It's by Flora Doehler an amazing artist, and friend. I learned to use the acrylic ink that Flora uses here from her, and so enjoyed painting with that medium. And she is so entirely magnificent in her work.
I paint and draw on commission and for shows. To commission a portrait, or purchase one of my paintings please contact me at: barbara.muir@sympatico.ca
A major highlight in my career? Drawing Oprah Winfrey live via Skype for her show "Where in the Skype are you?

You have certainly bumped up the joy in this painting--the exuberance, the colors!
