Valiant like anemones

Someone told me when we first planted our late
summer anemones that they are an invasive plant and will
take over the garden.  Now years later when I know that
they take up five, maybe six feet along the garden, I'd
like to say I wish they would take it over.  Before the
flowers -- lovely white blooms that fill the garden with
a luscious light -- there are the leaves -- dark green and
magnificent.

Every year Steven puts our Christmas tree out when the festivities
are over right where these flowers grow, wires it to the fence and
covers it with birdseed, but despite that eventuality, our anemones
don't miss a beat in coming up over and over. When he puts the tree
out for pick up in March, up come the anemone leaves again, starting
 their glorious growth.

Thank goodness.  Today I saw the first buds of the beautiful
white flowers coming up.  And we are going to see these
beauties again.  We all need to be valiant in this time,
and we are doing it.  So are the anemones.
