pick up some food, and then took a quick drive through the gorgeous trees. In Toronto in
spring the trees begin with a brilliant light green which is feathery from a distance. I love
trees at any time of year, but this time of year is especially beautiful and moving. It feels
full of possibilities.
So I wish you a beautiful weekend. I am showing you what happened to my understanding
of still life painting. This painting has been my Happy Art Award more than once. By now I
know so many artists who deserve the Happy Art Award that I would probably have to spend
half a year sending out awards if I wanted to give everyone one. So everyone who is reading
this -- you get the award whether you’re an artist or an art appreciator.

This painting is so wonderful. I love your manner of painting but am not sure I see what you mean in your comment about what happened to your understanding of still life painting.
Hi Evelyn,
Thank you so much. What I mean is that the concept, and look, and celebration captured
me, and I did paintings that I really love based on still life scenes.
Still life images of shared meals, before, during and after felt like
love letters to the time and place, and my husband who I shared most of
these meals with.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO Barbara
Thank you. I understand what you mean now. I love that and it gives meaning to painting or drawing.
