I found a post for this day in 2019, and that year I had a horrible
cold that developed into pneumonia.  I had two rounds of antibiotics,
and my new doctor had no more answers.  It was before I traveled
to New York City for a show in December -- but I do remember being
horribly sick.  And I did have pneumonia.  Luckily I was well for
the exhibition.  And am I ever glad we got to go to New York then!
I love this painting of Steven sleeping in our middle bedroom because
he was sick.

COVID was announced the following March, but probably started in
North America in December 2019. And here's the interesting thing. Since
the precautions came in -- the masking, social distancing, and
vaccines -- knock on wood -- I have not been sick at all. That is pretty
wonderful, because I am vulnerable to lung disease.  I've had
pneumonia several times.

I'm working on a painting that's going well, and I'll show it to you
when I'm finished.  I got a bunch of reference photos blown up by
my printer today.  Although all protective mandates for COVID have
been dropped here, by our brilliant (sarcasm) premier, both the printer
and I were masked in high quality masks.

Have a staying healthy and happy day.

  1. Barbara, this is so sweet. A couple of years ago I was sick. One of our cats, Cary Grant, curled up with me in bed and helped me get better. It looks like your kitty is as good a nurse as ours. lots of hugs and kisses to you guys!
