This is one of my three paintings on view in the Woman exhibition
at the Heliconian Club for the month of March. It is one of my
favourite paintings, but very hard to photograph properly because
the colours are so bright, yet there is still a subtlety to the work.
The model for the painting, is my dear friend Raylea, who came
to visit the opening yesterday with her husband Mick, after Mick
had helped several neighbours on their street clear their snow so
they could drive their cars, and walk.
I love the work for the happy feeling of anticipation, and for
the brilliant colours. The painting in the background is one I did
of my friend Flora Doehler years ago. She is walking on the
beach at Pugwash, Nova Scotia.
My image of the painting on yesterday's post is better for the colour.
Check it out.
Have a loving your life day.

Gorgeous ❣️❣️❣️❣️ I love the colour and the warm feeling. The painting in the background looks interesting!
Thank you so much Evelyn,
I'm so glad you like it. Of course the painting in the background was much clearer in real life. It was part of a series of people on their favourite beaches.
You've made me realize the phrase I was looking for was high key
colour. I do like that sort of colour. I was trying to explain
myself to another artist the other day, and the phrase escaped me!
Love your work,
XOXOXOXOXOXO Barbara
